Through
out this class, I learned a lot about many online tools and resources
I can use to enhance my studying experience which I never know they
existed before. It is amazing to know how many online resources are
out there that were created to help students learn, yet a lot of students still do not know about them or do not put the effort and
time to discover and play around with them.
Some
examples of these tools are the websites that enable you to construct
and put together your won mind maps that helps you visualize the
information you learn in class and make it easier for you to remember
the material. Also, there are mutable websites that allows you to
create time lines, animation slides, and online flash cards to make
learning more interactive, interesting, and entertaining. In addition, there are many valuable online
tools to help you manage your time better and stay on top of your
school work. An example of such tool is google calendar and the alert
notifications it automatically generate to remind you when class
assignments are due.
On
the other hand, there are many online resources to help you preform
better on your research papers, class assignments, preparing for
exams, or just learn more about the topics you were exposed to in
class. One of the most helpful online resources in my opinion is
google scholar. This website help you to search through millions of scholarly
published papers, articles, and books which enhance the credibility
of the information you find and the sources you use when writing
papers opposed to just using traditional search engines. Also, you
might want to search for videos online through (youtube.com/edu) or
any other educational website to help you find a visual explanation
of the material you are studying instead of the traditional reading
text method.
I
have learned a lot about my self in terms of what learning methods I
am more comfortable with and how I can use various online tools to
help me adapt to other learning methods I may encounter in class that
I usually do not prefer. For example, I learned that I am a visual
learner and that I have a strong preference to use charts, graphs,
and other visual display instead of just reading and studying from
text. To overcome that issue, I can use online tools to construct
mind maps to help me visualize the information and memorize it
better.
Personally,
the most meaningful experience in the course was the blog posts
assignments. Thees assignments allow me to reflect on the information
I have learned in class and it help me to focus more on the material
and subjects addressed in the class. In addition, I get to share what
I have learned with others who hopefully will benefit from it as
well.
I
have learned a lot of valuable things in this course that i intend
to use and apply in my future. I intend to use the online tools to
help me manage my time better and more efficiently and to remind me
of that various assignments I need to do either in class or in my
personal life. In addition, I have already started to use many of the
other online tools and resources we have learned about in class to
help me prepare for finals this semester and I am defiantly planning to use them to help me
throughout my future classes as well.
